A 4-axis CNC machining center is a computer-controlled milling machine that operates along four axes: the standard three linear axes (X, Y, Z) for tool movement, plus a fourth rotational axis (usually the A-axis, rotating around the X-axis). In this configuration, the cutting tool rotates automatically while the worktable remains stationary, enabling complex geometries, curved surfaces, and features on multiple sides without repositioning. It excels at machining specially shaped curtain walls, bicycle frames, and long-travel rail parts more efficiently than 3-axis machines.
